Swedish Massage
A Swedish massage is a great way to ease your physical, mental and emotional stress. Typically, the massage techniques used for Swedish massage use a lighter touch, but pressure can always be adjusted to your preference. This gentle massage can put you at ease and increase circulation, bringing relief from pain to your body.
Deep Tissue Massage
A deep tissue massage is a very nurturing way to help correct muscle imbalances in your body. I use a variety of massage techniques to access the deeper levels of your muscle tissues, tendons, and fascia. This helps to reduce the level of stress imposed on the body by chronically shortened muscles. This type of massage can produce relaxation and bring you alleviation of pain.
Neuromuscular Massage
Neuromuscular Massage is a specialized form of deep tissue work that addresses trigger points in your muscle tissues. Trigger Point Theory suggests that tiny areas of irritation form within strained bands of muscle tissue, and refer sensations of pain, weakness or numbness to surrounding or distant areas of muscle tissue.
This integrative deep tissue approach combines several techniques to manipulate the soft tissues. By combining these different modalities, we are able to reduce or eliminate many different types of restrictions in your soft tissues.
Prenatal Massage
As long as you are healthy, and using a certified and knowledgeable Massage Therapist, you can receive a Prenatal Massage at any point during your pregnancy. Growing humans is hard on your body and emotions! Prenatal Massage addresses many of the discomforts associated with pregnancy, including the postural imbalances due to your ever changing body. Massage during pregnancy provides you with nurturing touch, so that you can bring your attention inward and nurture yourself and baby.
Consult with your midwife or obstetrician before beginning any new therapeutic practice.
Postpartum Massage
A Postpartum Massage is an excellent way to help you recover from the physical and emotional demands of childbirth and caring for your newborn.
You can have a massage as soon as you’re feeling up for it. If you had a cesarean, it would be best to wait 6 weeks before receiving massage. If you are unsure about scheduling, or have any questions, please reach out!
P.S. Regardless of whether you schedule a Postpartum Massage for yourself, please get some rest. You deserve it. 100%.
Oncology Massage
With your Oncologist’s approval, I will customize your therapy session to address your unique physical and emotional needs. I’ve trained specifically for Oncology Massage, which focuses on adapting conventional massage techniques to your specific health needs, whether you currently have cancer or have a history of cancer. A safe massage plan will consider your diagnosis, treatments, diagnostic tests, blood values, symptoms, activity level and any restrictions you may have.
Lymphatic Massage
Lymphatic Drainage Massage uses very light pressure in a rhythmic, circular motion. With an understanding of the anatomy and functioning of this delicate system, a massage therapist can assist your body in clearing sluggish tissues of waste and swelling.
This type of massage is beneficial if you’ve been feeling tired or if you’re trying to get back on track following an illness (please wait until you are not contagious before scheduling). Lymphatic Drainage Massage offers benefits for athletes, surgical patients, fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue sufferers. It also benefits those seeking clearer and healthier skin.
